Note from the Administrator Diana L. Smith

I have always had a heart for kids and it has been my goal to start a Christian school that most people can afford. Therefore, I try to eliminate any unnecessary fees, and keep tuition as low as possible.

I believe that children are blessings that only God can give. Let me help you train them in the way of the Lord.

Blessings Academy is a Pentecostal school for grades K - 12. It is different than other schools because older students do the majority of their work on computers. An internet filter will be installed on their computers to help keep them safe on the internet.

We operate on a four day school week - Tuesday through Friday. Blessings Academy's school hours are from 7:30 AM - 3:30 PM. Our School year runs from Labor Day to Memorial Day.

We are now taking registration for the 2011-2012 school year. I require a New Student interview for all new students. There are no registration fees.

Students who have been expelled from public or private schools are not eligible to attend Blessings Academy.

We use Switched on Schoolhouse by Alpha Omega Publishers for grades 3 - 12..

Each student will be charged:

$100 year curriculum fee. This fee covers the rental of the CDs and the textbooks as well.

$200 yr facility fee per family

Tuition is as follows:

Kindergarten (1/2 day) $800 yr

Grades 1 - 11 $1000 yr

Seniors $800 yr if student needs 4 or less classes

$1000 yr if student needs 5 or more classes

Dear Parent of potential student of Blessings Academy,

We are about ready to start a second year of school. This is exciting that our church is able to provide Christian education to the youth in our church and to those in our community.  There are few changes for the upcoming school year that I would like to make you aware of.

Tuition: Last year the first payment of tuition was due on August 1st. The tuition was divided into 10 months August 1st to May 1st.  This year we are moving the due date back one month starting September 1st and ending with the last payment of June 1st. Paying Tuition before school started was kind of confusing to some. This is why we made the change. Also it will help those who would like to take August to pay for the curriculum.

Curriculum: Last year some parents bought their own SOS curriculum and Diana bought the others and charged them the cost. The cost to parents was anywhere from $50.00 for those who split the cost to over $200.00. In addition many were charged for state notebooks, writing books, art books and health CD’s. This Year we are charging one cost of $100.00. This will cover the total curriculum, which will be due before school starts September 7th.

Facility Fee: The Blessing Heights church has been so gracious to provide the facility for our school and to make changes to accommodate for the school needs. This year to help defray the cost to the church, we have added a $20 a month per family facility fee. If you have one child or three it is still only $20 a month. This is per family not per student. Some of the costs to the church are Increase in; insurance, electric, gas, water, paper goods, and church van usage.

Other Costs: The only other costs that may or may not accrue will be field trips and SAT tests. Also students are responsible for their lunches.

We have tried to develop a Christian school that won’t cost an arm and leg to attend. Sister Diana is the soul and backbone of the school at this time. I have taken upon myself to handle the finances of the school to help her out. I gave a monthly report to the Blessing Heights Church Board for the school year of 2009/2010.

Thank you for your involvement in Blessings Academy School. We are looking forward to an awesome time in Christ. Feel free to contact me if you have any questions.
